MOST NEEDED
* Umbrellas for the homeless. Any size, faded or not. Take to any meeting in May.
For Knitters, Crocheters, Loomers:
* Baby sets - Lightweight blankets ~24-24" to fit our packaging (NOT 14x14"). Use pastels, soft yarn. Hat/bootie sets to go with blankets always needed. These sets go to new moms as they leave the hospital.
* Blankets/Children - bright colors, minimum 36x36"
* Blankets/Lapghans - for men and women (see size chart on website)
* Critters - any character/animal up to 6" tall, lightly stuffed so they are "squishy." We donate to memory care facilities.
To Amigurumi animal crafters: Bulky yarn available in a variety of colors; let us know what you need. Larger items sold really well at our craft sale; next sale is 10/9/26 Rohan Rec Center.
* Hats - for all ages, but NO toddler size. We are well on the way to our 5,000 goal.
* Hats/Chemo - Directions now included in each bag with yarn we provide.
* Mittens - beginning to collect now
* Peyton Project Hearts - No need to add tags. Find pattern on their website HERE
* Prayer squares - must be 4 x 5", use AOL patterns on web, cardboard templates available
* Soap sacks - cotton yarn ONLY, use AOL patterns, with or without soap
For Sewers:
* Clothing protectors - fabric/velcro provided
* Eye shields - for NICU babies, instructions on AOL website
* Pillows/cardiac - sew, but do not stuff
* Pillows/heart stress for hand w/strap
* Pillows/mastectomy - sew, but do not stuff
* Pillows/port covers - kits available
* Walker bags - use sturdy/upholstery fabric, pattern/velcro provided
ONGOING
For Knitters, Crocheters, Loomers:
* Mats/bag - from grocery bags made on wood looms
* Picc line (IV) covers - for all ages, baby to adult, knitted preferred
* Panels, 7 x 9" - No blanket yarn please--too heavy when joined. Granny squares, typically 5x5, are not needed.
* Scarves - adult 5-6" wide x 45" long (do not need short ones for children)
* Shawls/adult - Regular shawls. No LIFE shawls.
* Twiddle mats - using #5 bulky yarn, placemat size, knit or crochet. Mats should not be open weave but solid. Mats must be washable in hot water. Attach items carefully--strong thread, dental floss, or crochet cotton works best. NO glued-on items. Items needed to affix to mats--large buttons, thread spools, keys, small zippers, small toys, textured items, items that can be firmly attached.
For Sewers:
* "Carrots" for hands - see Jen Smith for pattern
* Dolls, medical - fabric kits provided
* Hats/surgical for youth - fabric kits provided
* Pillowcases - for children up to 17 years old. One-yard fabric pieces provided; pattern on website.
* Pillows/small - for children, instructions on website
* Prayer pockets - sewn, pattern on website
NOT NEEDED AT THIS TIME
* Blankets: 14x14" preemie and large bed-size
* Buntings for babies
* Hats - toddler size (32-peg loom)
* Hearts of love
* LIFE blankets & shawls
